Affiliates Are Not Happy with BetUS Parters

Affiliates are starting to feel betrayed by the sports betting giant, BetUS Sportsbook. Here's why....

The latest word on the GPWA (Gambling Portal Webmasters Association), CAP (Casino Affiliate Programs) discussion forums is that BetUS Sportsbook is leaving the U.S. market. Affiliateguarddog.com has also branded them as a rouge program. Many of the major sports betting portal owners were reporting on this news over two weeks ago when their affiliate managers personally informed them of their plans to pull out of the U.S. market. Many insiders and other affiliate have been also reporting that almost all of affiliate managers at BetUS have been laid off or fired.

Meanwhile, the company has yet to stop accepting new players from the United States. Their website still allows players from the U.S. to sign-up and their marketing department is still sending promotional emails to inactive and active U.S. clients in effort to get these players to re-up. None of their customer service agents even know about the company's plans to leave the U.S. market. In addition, some affiliates were told that BetUS is going to continue allowing U.S. players to register in the future.

At the same time (and more importantly), BetUS Partners has turned off all affiliate tracking for U.S. players, which means affiliates are sending U.S. players and just not getting credit for them. According to BetUS, affiliates will only be getting credit for international players that they refer in the future. They have also turned off many area of their affiliate tracking, including the "Players Report" section. In other words, you will have no way of knowing if they remove players from your affiliate account.

This is all happening at least two weeks after their affiliate department contacted their top affiliates informing them of their departure from the U.S. market. In some cases, affiliates weren't even notified that any of this was going to happen.

Says one affiliate on the GPWA forums,

"I was not notified... kinda pisses me off that no email message was sent to affiliates. Would only take a few minutes and have us not looking like fools. I expected more from BetUS."

No mass email (to all the affiliates) was sent by BetUS to inform their partners of their plans pull out from the U.S. market.

A few bigger affiliates said they have been in contact with the two affiliate managers left at BetUS and have reported that BetUS "will eventually stop accepting players"? Most hardworking affiliates are wondering when that will happen. Many affiliates feel cheated and wonder why BetUS chose to turn the tracking off for U.S. players before actually pulling out of the market? Other affiliates are wondering when they are going to receive their commissions (if at all) as the book is a also few months behind on payments (affiliates are still owed for March and April).

What is actually going on with BetUS? The truth is only the books executives know. But, since BetUS decided to turn off the tracking for U.S. players, affiliates have been getting hosed as they aren't getting any credit for the traffic and players that BetUS is currently benefiting from. They are still allowing U.S. customers to join and the longer they do, the more the affiliates (who have spent years working diligently for this brand as a trusted partner) feel betrayed. They are aso late on affiliate payments as many affiliates are stil owed thier March commissions.

My Sports Market will update on the situation as it progresses. In the meantime, I would like to invite you to check out ReferIncome which is the official affiliate program of Oddsmaker sportsbook. Oddsmaker has been building their brand for the past few years and it looks to be like they are headed in the right direction. If you send me an email, I can also put you in touch with my affiliate manager at this company who has been working with me for the past two years.

Other news and rumors throughout the sports betting industry
  • -There are rumors that BetUS can no longer pay players and player withdraws are becoming harder to get from this book. If you have money in this book, MSM recommends pulling your money from BetUS Sportsbook.

  • -Sportsbook.com and their subsidiary's (PlayersOnly, Hollywood, Superbook) have decided to pull out of the U.S. market for the present. They are not allowing US players to even register.

  • -Sports Interaction has also decided to withdraw from the U.S. market. Unlike BetUS, they have also actually stopped accepting new U.S. players.

  • -Another rumor is that the giant sports betting portal, SBR is being sold.

  • -Other books are still operating despite the threat and attempts by the United States DOJ to thwart their efforts.
